GTH Sitting Area Renovation

Global Taiwan Institute (GTI) is a nonprofit organization that strives to raise awareness, deepen affinity, and create opportunities for strengthening the relationship of Taiwan, its people and culture, with the international community. GTI selected a historic office building in the DuPont Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC as its international headquarters. The program includes spaces for research, education and events to reach out to key decision makers.

Encore was hired as the architect for a complete renovation of the four stories to be more open, elegant and functional. The renovation of this DuPont Circle rowhouse from a dated, segmented office into an elegant open office space provided GTI with needed programmatic space while improving the aesthetics of the building.

The first floor houses reception and meeting spaces plus core service areas, while open plan offices are located on upper levels. Design and construction was performed during an extremely short time frame.

Bera Engineering prepared the MEP design, and Therrien Waddell was the general contractor.
